Ryan Moffet invited to attend Atmospheric Chemistry Colloquium for Emerging Senior Scientists |
August 2007 |
Ryan Moffet was invited to attend the atmospheric chemistry colloquim for emerging senior scientists (ACCESS) this August. The ACCESS program was initiated in 1991 and is held in alternate years in conjunction with the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) in Atmospheric Chemistry. ACCESS lasts 3 days and then the attendees go on to the GRC, which lasts 5 days. The meetings provide an opportunity for new investigators in atmospheric chemistry to forge future professional relationships. The entire atmospheric science community benefits by becoming more aware of innovations in atmospheric chemistry made by these researchers. Ryan will attend after graduating before moving on to Lawrence Berkeley National Labs to a postdoctoral position with Prof. Mary Gilles.

Andy Ault receives grant from Port of San Diego to study aerosol sources near San Diego Bay |
March 2007 |
Andy Ault received a grant from the Unified Port of San Diego as part of their environmental program to effort to enhance knowledge about San Diego Bay while promoting and supporting environmental research to protect the Bay and its natural resources. Andy's proposal was entitled "Real-time Source Apportionment of Atmospheric Particles Impacting the San Diego Bay". The grant for $10,000 will be used to support mobile laboratory measurements at different locations around San Diego Bay to assess the temporal and spatial variability of different sources on the Bay area.
